Amazon recently lifted the veil on the new version of its Echo Spot, seven years after the first model. A round and practical connected alarm clock that can currently be found priced at 54.99 euros instead of 94.99 euros on the American giant’s website.
Amazon announced this summer the release of the 2024 version of its Echo Spot, seven years after the very first model which has since become very old. This new connected alarm clock, obviously accompanied by Alexa, is very different from its predecessor, with its screen now occupying half of the front and its speaker. A device that has its place on a bedside table and can display a wealth of information. If you are interested, know that it is currently offered for less than 60 euros, almost half price.

A small, practical and modular alarm clock
The Amazon Echo Spot is a rather discreet round connected alarm clock. With its dimensions of 113 x 103 x 111 mm, it fits right in on a small bedside table. The device will not make a dent since its design is minimalist and elegant enough to have an effect. And to make matters worse, it was even partly made with recycled materials.
Like any good alarm clock, the Echo Spot sports a screen on its front, here 2.83 inches, in the shape of a semi-circle and touchscreen. Above all, it has the advantage of being customizable. The user can choose from a variety of clock faces and colors, and can even select visual animations for added pep. In addition to the time, the screen can display the day’s weather (with very pleasant little illustrations), alarms, reminders or even the titles of the songs playing. Please note, this screen does not support video streaming; you will therefore not be able to use it to watch a last episode of your favorite series before sleeping. On such a small screen, it really wouldn’t be comfortable, too.
Alexa within earshot
A microphone is also integrated, which allows the Alexa voice assistant to collect all your requests. A microphone that can also be deactivated to protect your privacy. It is therefore thanks to Alexa that you will be able to program daily alarms with very specific songs to wake you up in the morning, or launch a song or a podcast from an audio streaming platform. Moreover, Amazon promises clear and powerful sound thanks to the 1.73-inch speaker located under the screen, on the front. Finally, the Echo Spot can also be used to control your connected devices compatible with Alexa, without getting out of bed. It can also, for example, allow you to automate certain daily tasks to simplify your life: if you want to wake up at a specific time with progressive lighting, you can do so thanks to the connected alarm clock and a smart bulb.
