DayFR Euro

Who is this Chinese manufacturer that reinterprets the Ferrari Purosangue SUV in its own way?

Not yet present, commercially speaking, on the Old Continent, but already on everyone’s minds since its SU7 Ultra sedan beat a record held by the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT on the legendary Nürburgring track last October. With 1,548 hp, it completed a lap in just 6’46”874, an improvement of more than 20 seconds compared to the German sports car. A great communication operation before the introduction of the standard SU7, in the coming years.

Thoroughbred Percent Electric

A happiness that never arrives alone, it will be followed by the YU7 SUV, the first official photos of which have just fallen to demonstrate a silhouette outrageously reminiscent of that of the Ferarri Purosangue, the very first crossover of the Prancing Horse, produced since 2023 And Xiaomi did not just “copy” the standard, reading its – meager, for the moment – technical sheet: 681 hp combined by two engines. Here, no thermal block, of course, but a duo of electromotors providing only 44 hp to its Italian alter ego. If the latter goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 s, the YU7 could indeed shatter this time thanks to the phenomenal torque inherent to its electric propulsion, despite its mass amounting to 2.4 t, compared to barely more than 2 t on the Maranello side. To be checked when Xiaomi has lifted the veil on all the characteristics of this vehicle approaching 5 meters long, compared to 4.97 m for the Purosangue.

Prix Xiaomi YU7

Visit Auto-Moto very soon to find out more about the Xiaomi YU7, and in particular its price which we imagine is much lower than the more than €380,000 claimed from each Purosangue owner. Response in spring 2025, most likely, while its marketing could take place during the summer.

MEN LIFE

To summarize

We owe this initiative to Xiaomi, currently better known for its smartphones than for its automobiles. If a 100% electric engine replaces the Ferrari V12, its power level will come dangerously close.
