While One UI 7 has finally been made official by Samsung, and its beta program launched in a few countries, another update has arrived on Galaxy smartphones. The South Korean firm has actually started the deployment of the December 2024 security patch.
The media SamMobile also specified on December 9, 2024 that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 were starting to receive this version in Korea. A first step which announces wider availability in the days and weeks to come, particularly on the European versions. Knowing that Samsung is more than serious about updates, other Galaxy models should also benefit from them soon.

While waiting for its arrival in France, here is a quick summary of the changes brought by the December 2024 security patch. First of all, we find 14 security fixes from Google inherent to Android, including several high risk and one critical risk .
For its part, Samsung has closed eight vulnerabilities impacting its Galaxy smartphones and tablets. We note in passing two which directly affect Exynos chips and modems embedded in its devices, including the Exynos 9820, 9825, 980, 990, 850, 1080, 2100, 1280, 2200, 1330, 1380, 1480, 2400, 9110 , W920, W930, W1000, Modem 5123 and Modem 5300.

We still advise you to wait a few more days while Samsung deploys this version in Europe.
