Thanks to a cannon shot of Nordine Kandil and despite a defense far from reassuring around Mohamed JaouabAmiens SC returned to victory against Grenoble (0-2) this Saturday. From 3 to 8, discover our ratings after this match counting for the 15th day of Ligue 2.
Man of the Match
To win this type of match, particularly indecisive and contested, it sometimes takes a stroke of genius. And that's precisely what Nordine Kandil (8) achieved against Annecy. After wasting a golden opportunity at the start of the match (18′), the former Strasbourg player gradually gained momentum, notably displaying a great bond with Antoine Leautey. If there was still some waste in his game (64% of successful passes, 0/10 on crosses, 50% of successful dribbles), the playmaker had the merit of trying and above all not getting discouraged , which could have been his fault recently. Result, he unlocked the match with a genius action, alone, concluded with a sublime strike. And if no assist will be credited to him on the break goal, no one will forget that his cross is at the origin of the action.
The satisfactions
In line with his recent good outings, which earned him the player of the month trophy in November, Antoine Leautey (7) has long been the most dangerous Amiens. With great freedom, he roamed the entire front of the attack and put his opponents through an ordeal. In the first half, he was involved in his team's two best chances, first with a dry strike (10') then with a very good cross which should have turned into a penultimate pass (18'). Less visible in the Amiens highlight, he still focused the attention of several opponents, thus offering space to his partners.
In the absence of Sébastien Corchia, Omar Daf decided to trust Amine Chabane (7). A paid choice. Very rigorous, the young right-back perfectly honored his first start in Ligue 2. First of all, the Moroccan was extremely solid on the defensive level (3 clearances, 2 interceptions, 6 tackles, 12 duels won out of 13) . Then, he did not just defend around his penalty area. The number 39 embodied the very good state of mind of his team, who did not hesitate to press high to hinder the opposing team's recovery. A conclusive test.
The disappointments
Favorite to Siaka Bakayoko, Mohamed Jaouab (3) did not give all the guarantees of serenity against Grenoble. Far from it even. After several failed restarts at the start of the match (7′, 21′), the defender on loan from Rennes quickly gave the feeling of being overcome by doubt. So much so that he no longer attempted the slightest push forward. Subsequently, he missed interventions approaching his penalty area. The first leads Rémy Vita to concede a dangerous touch (32′). The second results in a foul logically punished with a yellow (59′). The third is an error of judgment which leaves Theo Valls with his shot at the entrance to the penalty area (86′). We will have to do much more in the next matches to establish ourselves as the worthy successor to Mamadou Fofana. In the meantime, it is a miracle that his team did not concede a goal with a defender showing such feverishness.
In line with his last outings in the championship, Louis Mafouta (5) had all the trouble in the world to go against Grenoble. If he can end the match with a decisive pass when he perfectly shifts Nordine Kandil (18′), this action remains his only feat of arms of the game. While the players behind him were constantly on the move, creating trouble for the opponent, Louis Mafouta failed to get into tune to be the point of support and potentially the end of the chain hoped for. With only 1 shot attempted (blocked), no successful dribble (0/1) and only 4 duels played (1/4), the figures attest to a very neutral performance.
