“All the sensations are increased tenfold when you experience an adventure”: after more than a month of cycling, Adrien Donnat from Piscénois arrived in Morocco

“I left with a bike that did not withstand the weight of the luggage, smiles Adrien Donnat. After only 2 km, I had to give up and buy a real travel bike.” On October 23, the Piscenois adventurer set off by bike from Pézenas towards Dakar, in Senegal. After a month and a half of travel, he has just arrived in Morocco.

Bad weather

While he thought he was traveling alone, it was ultimately accompanied by two people that the young videographer crossed Spain. “Another bicycle traveler, Thibault, met on a dedicated forum, joined me to cross part of Spain with me, he smiled. Then, Alice, a friend from Piscé, decided to join us. After several hours on the bus, she found us in a small village in the middle of Spain, in the rain and cold setting in.” Because travelers from Hérault were not spared by the weather conditions and even had to change their itinerary because of the floods.

Between camp, bivouac and shower at the tap or in rivers, adventurers allow themselves one night in an Airbnb per week to relax. “restore and recharge their devices”. They still enjoyed a refreshing but intense stop. “We stopped for three days at the home of a couple in their sixties who were in the middle of the olive harvest, in Andalusia, says Adrien. We helped them with the harvest and had a wonderful time cooking together and chatting.”

It was therefore in a long month full of highlights that the trio crossed Spain because “all the sensations are increased tenfold when you experience an adventure”. The three friends took advantage of every second to build very strong bonds: “We are now united by a deep brotherhood, forged by each pedal stroke, each sharing and each ordeal overcome together.”

Now arrived in Morocco, it is a duo who will continue this journey, after Alice’s return to Pézenas. Still heading for Dakar, Adrien now sets out to conquer the Atlas Mountains, a Moroccan epic that “promises to be incredible”.
