Palestine: let us impose an end to massacres, genocide, denial of humanity. Let’s impose sanctions against the State of Israel

For almost 14 months now, the Palestinians of Gaza have suffered the horror of an atrocious war waged against their very existence and which is taking place before our eyes. And it has been more than 10 months since the International Court of Justice ordered measures to stop a genocide that it already considered plausible.

Since October, massacres and organized famine have further intensified in the northern Gaza Strip. The number of people killed and injured, the destruction, the forced displacement of the population, is dizzying. The Israeli army’s annihilation of all vital infrastructure continues unabated. The rare witnesses, speaking for humanitarian organizations, describe an apocalyptic situation, horror to a degree that they have never seen.

Palestinians in the West Bankincluding East Jerusalem, also constantly suffer attacks from the army and settlers, expropriations, house demolitions, “ethnic cleansing” operations by forced displacement of populations, murders, arbitrary arrests.

The National Collective for a Just and Lasting Peace between Palestinians and Israelis denounces this war against an entire people which prolongs a policy of dispossession of the Palestinian people that has been in place for decades.

The ceasefire which came into force in Lebanon cannot make us forget the Israeli bombings of incredible violence in the center of Beirut, the displacement of a million people, the considerable destruction and the thousands of deaths. The far-right Israeli government has not abandoned the option of a regional war, which would drag us towards the abyss…

As the end of the year approaches, we will demonstrate en masse to express our outrage and demand that this stop. We do not accept the de facto complicity of our authorities with the State of Israel and the policies it pursues. We do not accept organized powerlessness. We do not accept that the principles of international law and humanitarian law collapse before our eyes and that our international institutions are thus undermined. The State of Israel systematically violates all UN resolutions, it is not acceptable to let it do so. We have always unambiguously denounced all the war crimes committed since October 7.

The arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court, in particular against the Israeli Prime Minister, against the former Minister of Defense and a leader of Hamas, constitute a considerable event and reveal the seriousness of what is at stake today. today. The declarations of , which invoked immunity to try to protect Israeli leaders, are totally shameful.

On September 18, the United Nations General Assembly demanded an end to the Israeli occupation of the occupied Palestinian territory within twelve months and called for sanctions against Israel. But what is France doing to move in this direction, even though it voted for this resolution?

The National Collective for a just and lasting peace between Palestinians and Israelis demands:

  • An immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza, the withdrawal of the Israeli army and the opening of all crossing points to humanitarian aid,
  • The end of occupation, colonization and the policy of apartheid, in accordance with the UN resolution of September 18, 2024.
  • The right of return of Palestinian refugees as stipulated in UN Resolution 194.
  • The immediate withdrawal of the Israeli army from Lebanon, and the perpetuation of the ceasefire,
  • The release of all those detained, whether hostages held by Hamas for more than a year, or more than 10,000 Palestinian political prisoners held in defiance of international law, since decades for many of them, and thousands of Palestinians from Gaza transferred to detention and torture centers.
  • Material and political support for UNWRA, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, shamefully attacked by Israel,
  • Unambiguous support for the International Criminal Court, and the commitment to apply its decisions without restriction or reservation: we accept no immunity for war criminals.
  • The protection of Palestinian journalists and the opening of Gaza to the international press,
  • The end of impunity for the State of Israel, and sanctions as long as it does not respect international law:

An embargo on all deliveries of weapons, ammunition and military components to Israel,

    diplomatic sanctions,

the suspension of the association agreement between the European Union and Israel,

  • France’s recognition of the State of Palestine within the framework of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination,
  • Building a future of peace between the Palestinian and Israeli peoples based on equal rights,
  • Respect for freedom of expression, demonstration, assembly.
  • The fight against racism in all its forms including anti-Semitism, the refusal of any exploitation of this fight and any amalgamation.

We call on the population of our country to an unprecedented mobilization, throughout France to shout our indignation and demand that our demands be met. It is our humanity that is being insulted, we will not let it happen. It is our responsibility before our conscience and before future generations.

In , demonstration on December 7, departure at 2 p.m. from the Republic.
