José Vicioso has only been president of the Real Federación Española de Ciclismo for just over a week, but there is excitement in his eyes as he discusses his ambitions for the next four years. In an interview with MARCA, the new president outlined his plans for the federation in the future.

What was the process like to become president?

“It’s been a long road, because I come from the Madrid Federation where a lot of groundwork had to be done. I have been more visible in the last four years thanks to my responsibilities at the Madrid Federation, attending all the championships nationals and gaining recognition by supporting various federations. As a lawyer, I was able to help presidents in administrative matters. What goals have you set?
