Conservative host Tucker Carlson, close to US President-elect Donald Trump, announced on Tuesday that he had conducted an interview in Moscow with the head of Russian diplomacy Sergei Lavrov. It will be broadcast “very soon”according to his words. Previously, he interviewed Vladimir Putin. It was then the first interview given by the latter to a Western journalist since the start of the Russian offensive in Ukraine in 2022.

In his video, Tucker Carlson accuses the administration of outgoing President Joe Biden of “push the United States ever closer to a nuclear conflict with Russia” and asserts that America is in “undeclared war” with Moscow. He also accuses the United States embassy of having dissuaded Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky from granting him an interview.
