Israel claims to have eliminated three Hamas members

The Palestinian Health Ministry announced an Israeli airstrike on Tuesday in the northern occupied West Bank and reported two deaths, with the Israeli army claiming to have “eliminated” three Hamas members.

The army said in a statement that they were “planning an imminent attack”.

The Palestinian Health Ministry previously announced that a strike on a car near the city of Aqaba, east of Tubas, killed two people and injured another, the latter of whom was transferred to the Tubas public hospital. The ministry also accused the Israeli army of attacking the hospital, an allegation the latter denied.

The Israeli army spoke of a strike in the Jordan Valley and assured that one of its units was then sent to recover the bodies and had operated “in the area of the Turkish government hospital in Tubas” without entering it.

The Palestinian ministry denounced “the intrusion of Israeli occupying forces into the hospital (…) shooting” inside the healthcare establishment, as well as “the aggression of staff and patients, and the arrest of a number of them.

An AFP journalist saw Israeli armored vehicles parked outside the hospital, and soldiers deployed around the facility.

He also saw Israeli soldiers leaving the hospital, getting into armored personnel vehicles, some of them in medical gowns.
