MR-Engagés agreement: Joëlle Milquet takes over as president of RTBF

Who are these administrators? The MR, who is entitled to five mandates, proposes Nadia Geerts as vice-president of the board of directors. A figure of secularism, she works as a collaborator at the party headquarters. The other names put forward by the liberals for the mandates of “simple administrators” are Corentin de Salle (management of the MR study center), Axel Miller (chief of staff of Georges-Louis Bouchez and former boss of Dexia, among others), Mathieu Raedts (a close friend of David Leisterh) and Juliette Mariscal (a collaborator of Georges-Louis Bouchez at MR).

Note that Étienne Dujardin, MR municipal councilor, columnist in several media and creator of the new online media 21News, is ultimately not included in the liberal list due to the incompatibility between his activities and the mandate at RTBF.

The Engagés, partners of the liberals in the FWB government, could nominate three names. Including, according to our information, the person who will occupy the presidency of the Board of Directors. Joëlle Milquet (former president of the CDH – which has since become Les Engagés – and former Deputy Prime Minister) and Véronique Salviformer MP and current director of Ihecs (the school of journalism and communication) will be part of the new board. The third name will be proposed shortly, we explain at Les Engagés.

The Free was able to reveal that Joëlle Milquet was cited as future president of RTBF. The name of Véronique Salvi was also mentioned for this strategic mandate. But it is the former boss of the CDH/Engagés who will take the chair of president. On the Engagés side, we confirm the information and we are delighted with this choice and the political agreement found on her name (basically, the MR was not in favor of Joëlle Milquet, considered too left-wing ). “Joëlle has the stuff and the build to be able to preside over the destiny of such a public tool at a time when it will have to make strategic refocusing of its deployment“, explains Maxime Prévot, the president of the political movement.

The PS would propose, again according to our sources, Rim Ben Achour (advisor within the IEV, the study center of the Socialist Party), Gaëtan Servais (boss of the Liège investment company Noshaq and already a member of the board) and Jeremy Demeyer (spokesperson for the National Lottery and former spokesperson for Thomas Dermine).

Eco would suggest Baptiste Erkes (who is the current president of the RTBF board).

Finally, the PTB would propose to renew his mandate as administrator Michaël Verbauwhede.

The vote on these names should take place in a week, on Wednesday December 11, at the Parliament of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.
