A fire broke out this Tuesday a little before noon in Binche on the ground floor of a home located on rue de Robiano. The fire was brought under control and no casualties were reported except for a cat who died in the fire.
The Hainaut Center emergency zone was called shortly before noon for a building fire on rue de Robiano. A pumper from the Binche barracks and additional resources from the La Louvière barracks (ladder, tanker and command vehicle) were dispatched to the site.
“When we arrived, the fire was on the ground floor of a house which is located between two adjoining houses. The disaster was quickly brought under control. The fire was extinguished in fifteen minutes and we stayed on site for about an hour,” explains Benoît Filippi, captain at the Hainaut Center Rescue Zone.
An accidental fire
When the fire broke out, the occupants were on site. They were able to leave the building on their own. There were no casualties except for a cat who died in the disaster.
The origin of this fire is accidental. It is due to incorrect manipulation with gas cylinders. There was no damage to the neighbors.
