New very light update for the Toyota Yaris

Launched in 1999 in Europe, the Toyota Yaris is a real hit with more than 10 million units sold, including 5 million on the Old Continent. In , she also enjoys a good image thanks to her production in (North) with her adventurer brother Yaris Cross. To celebrate its 25th anniversary and continue to build on the success of its flagship city car, Toyota is making slight adjustments while awaiting a real restyling.

The Yaris vintage 2025, for example, receives two new body colors: Forest Green for the classic range, and a new Storm Gray (a fairly nuanced blue gray) reserved for the GR Sport finish. Appearing in 2021, it plays the dynamism card with a specific body kit and firmer settings on the chassis side. But of course, it's not as extreme as the real GR Yaris! These two new colors are also offered with a contrasting black roof.

Two new shades and… that's about it!

The GR Sport finish of the Yaris “4” is slightly revised, with new logos embroidered on the headrests of the semi-bucket seats. It nevertheless retains its red stitching and its metal gray inserts, as well as its GR logo on the steering wheel branch. Since 2023, the city car has also benefited from a new central touch screen of 10.5” maximum, while the digital meters are displayed on a panel ranging from 7 to 12.3” depending on the finish.

In Europe, the fourth generation Yaris recently doubled its hybrid offering with two power levels: the 116 hp variant already in the catalog since the launch of the city car in 2019, and a supercharged 130 hp variant offering better performance while limiting its consumption. The mechanical part does not seem to evolve one iota.

For the moment, the French division of Toyota is not communicating on this slight update. We imagine that the prices should not change. According to the European press release, this evolution of the Yaris will be available at the beginning of 2025, with production scheduled for February.
