The story of the events of Saturday afternoon is chilling: several young people, armed with bladed weapons, who thoughtlessly sting teenage Football players. It's not a movie, it's reality. The events took place in Baillif, after a U17 match…
Sport is supposed to be one of the effective levers against violence. By offering young people a wide choice of disciplines, we keep them busy, we keep them away from idleness, we supervise them, we instill values in them. Ideally, this is how it should have happened.
Parents bend over backwards to allow children to go to training and competitions ; they are then reassured to see them practicing a healthy activity.
But Saturday afternoon (November 30, 2024), the scenario was completely different, in Baillif.
The violence, which is plaguing Guadeloupe, took place on the sidelines of a U17 Regional 2 football match, between the Black Swan and the CSC/CAM agreement. Some players from the Capesterian team were brutally attacked, after showering, when returning to their bus ; severely beaten and stung by bladed weapons, many are now traumatized.
The most serious case, a boy seriously injured in the groin, had to be quickly operated on the following night ; he is now out of trouble.
The attackers would be young people called by the players of the opposing team, to fight the CSC/CAM agreement.
The president of the Capesterre club was not there. Since these sordid events, she has spoken with the victims and their parents. His testimony is difficult to hear ; it's cold down your spine.
While playing, they bicker, it's normal. That's part of the game, it's the competition, they're young people. But then, when going on the bus, they are attacked by people called by the players, that on the other hand is intolerable, in my opinion. We must feel safe when we go to a meeting (…). They were all stung, in various places, including one very serious (…).

Same condemnation from the president of the CAM, who produced a press release during the weekend. For him, lessons must be learned from such an event.
We call on everyone, parents, educators, players and supporters, to show kindness, restraint and responsibility. Football should not be limited to competition. It is above all a vector of education, respect and social cohesion. Together, we must transmit these values to younger generations and guarantee a healthy and safe environment, both on and off the pitch.
Hugues Philippe Ramdini, president of the CAM
As of Sunday, via a press release, the Guadeloupean Football League expressed its deep support for the victims of this “grave incident” and condemned such excesses.
The League is not considering, for the moment, taking sanctions. A discussion must take place between the members of the office to rule on the subject, according to the first vice-president Guy Manette, who believes that it is up to the justice system to “take over“.
Complaints have already been filed with the gendarmerie in Saint-Claude.
