Three individuals were indicted and placed in pre-trial detention, Saturday November 30, for the murder of a 33-year-old man, shot dead in Pont-Audemer, in Eure, on the night of Friday 22 to Saturday 23 November, the Évreux public prosecutor's office announced this Tuesday, December 3.
The accused, aged respectively 33, 23 and 20 years old, were arrested “by the gendarmes of the Research Section (SR) of Rouen, supported by the gendarmes of the Eure group and the GIGN, during the night from November 27 to 28,” Rémi Coutin, public prosecutor of Évreux, told AFP.
They were then brought before the judge at the end of their police custody, on November 29. Moreover, during this, the three suspects had denied their involvement in the murder of the thirty-year-old. The suspects were finally indicted for “murder by an organized gang” and “attempted murder by an organized gang”, as specified by the public prosecutor of Évreux.
The victim unfavorably known to the justice system
The night of the murder, the victim and a friend had gone at the end of the evening to “what was clearly a meeting place for a drug transaction,” the public prosecutor told CNEWS on November 25. .
Two cars then appeared, several individuals got out before opening fire with weapons of different calibers on the two men. They all tried to flee. The victim, a passenger in the car, died before his friend, the driver, arrived at the nearest fire station. The emergency services could only note the man's death.
Still according to the Évreux public prosecutor's office, the victim was unfavorably known to the justice system, particularly for drug trafficking cases. A judicial investigation against X was then opened for “murder by an organized gang”, “attempted murder by an organized gang” and “drug trafficking”.
