Moïse Lafleur was sentenced on December 11, 2023 to twenty years of criminal imprisonment for the murder of Gaëtan Bondu. The 36-year-old man was found by the gendarmes in a pool of blood in his apartment on January 17, 2021, killed with around twenty stab wounds.
Moïse Lafleur, present at the scene of the crime – which took place during a very drunken evening – has always denied the facts and his trial before the Deux-Sèvres Assize Court in 2023 did not allow to know much more.
Exceptional six-month extension
He appealed the judgment condemning him the next day. The public prosecutor of the Poitiers Court of Appeal requested on October 14 the exceptional extension of his pre-trial detention, which was due to expire on December 12, 2024. Request which was examined this Tuesday, December 3 by the investigating chamber in Poitiers .
Indeed, due to “audience constraints” and despite the addition of an assize session at the end of 2024, the Vienna Court of Appeal was not able to schedule a new judgment hearing within the allotted time of one year, provided for by the texts. “We do not have the possibility of judging him sooner but the risk of pressure on the witnesses and on the victim's family is major, pointed out the Attorney General. He is violent and feared, and his alcoholism is problematic and encourages his action. »
The Poitevin judges validated this request for a six-month extension this Tuesday. The appeal trial of Moïse Lafleur is scheduled for April 16 to 18, 2025 in Poitiers.
