A fire destroyed an apartment in La Mézière, near Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine), Tuesday morning December 3, 2024. Students from the neighboring private school were confined to the classroom as a precaution.

An apartment was affected by a fire on Tuesday December 3, 2024, in La Mézière, near Rennes. The fire started at daybreak, in a home in the Marcel-Lefeuvre residence, on the first floor. The occupants, a couple and two children, were able to escape in time without being injured. Firefighters arrived on scene shortly after 8 a.m. Around 25 firefighters were mobilized to put out the fire, which was quickly brought under control. In total, 75 m2 of the accommodation was destroyed.

Students confined during the intervention
240 children from the nearby Saint-Martin school were asked to stay in class until mid-morning break, as a precaution.
