Ukraine announced that it had been targeted by 110 Russian drones overnight. The attack left one dead and three injured in the western town of Ternopil, according to authorities.
“One person died, three were injured and around a hundred residents were evacuated,” Ukrainian emergency services said on Telegram. The town of Ternopil, located more than 350 kilometers southwest of kyiv, is generally relatively untouched by Russian attacks.
According to emergency services, a “large-scale fire broke out” in the city following the Russian strike, and “the shock wave damaged the windows of neighboring buildings, a school and 20 cars” .
The Ukrainian Air Force, for its part, indicated that 52 of the 110 drones were shot down by anti-aircraft defense, and 50 of them disappeared from radars, “probably” due to jamming of the Ukrainian army. For its part, Russian defense said it destroyed 15 Ukrainian drones on Monday, all in areas bordering Ukraine.
