This Sunday evening, around 9:30 p.m., the Monaco Public Security services received a call from a person who had discovered an individual suffering from a stab wound near Square Lamarck, in the Moneghetti district of Monaco.
Information confirmed this Monday evening in Monaco-Matin by the General Prosecutor's Office of Monaco, mentioning “a bloodied individual, lying on the ground, but conscious, on the public highway”.
The victim, aged around forty, presented “stab wounds to the abdomen and thigh”.
Emergency surgery in Nice
The victim, an employee in the Principality, was found a few meters from the border of Beausoleil where she lives.
“She was quickly taken care of by the emergency services and referred to the Pasteur hospital in Nice to undergo emergency surgery. Her condition is now stable and out of danger”specifies the General Prosecutor's Office to Monaco-Matin.
Shortly after the events, the police managed to collect the first decisive elements allowing them to identify a suspect in his thirties, a French resident.
“He was arrested a few moments later on Monegasque territory. He was placed in police custody on charges of attempted murder”reveals the General Prosecutor's Office of Monaco, which highlights the “particularly active” investigation carried out by the public highway investigations section of the judicial police division of Public Security.
The Monegasque police officers have already discovered the location of the attack in Monaco, the investigation is now focused on determining the link between the two individuals and the circumstances in which these stabbings occurred.
