Saturday November 23, 2024the Trun fire brigade (Orne) celebrated St. Barbara’s Day. The head of the center, Sébastien Faucontook the opportunity to take stock of the past year.

34 fires this year

A quick assessment who saw a increase in interventions during the first half of the yearthen a reduction during the second half of the year which allows the year to end at the same level as the previous year.

Or for 2024, 325 interventions including 242 rescues to people34 fires, 22 accidents on public roads and 27 various interventions.

An increasing workforce

On the staff side, with 32 firefightersthe workforce is increasing for the third consecutive year thanks to 4 integrations since January 1, 2024: sapper Emmanuelle Ansel, sapper Mathieu Jacquelin, sapper Grégory Batteau who obtained his JSP certificate in Argentan and master corporal Morgane Baucheron transferred from the Sées center.

“We record two departures for transfers and we currently have a recruitment file in progress,” underlines the center head.

If 32 is a suitable number of staff, it is still a little tight for weekday availability and it is on this point that we work hardest to find staff.

Contracted companies

Sébastien Faucon wanted to thank the approved companies which help to have available staffin particular the commune of Trun with three firefighters available all day as well as Trimat Kit d'Argentan, Strate Composite Argentan, Terres d'Argentan and EHPAD Pierre-Wadier de Trun which each provide a volunteer firefighter.

Medals and promotions

Pour today's medalists: medal with rosette for exceptional services for Lieutenant Gérald Collin; gold level medal of honor to Master Corporal Nicolas Leboeuf; medal of honor silver level to chief warrant officer Damien Rocher; bronze level medal of honor to Corporal Patti Perotin and Sapper Anne Leboeuf.

Promotions: Jeffrey Hermeline is promoted to master sergeant, Mathieu Descheerder is promoted to master corporal, Arnaud Faucon is promoted to 1st class, Julien Larroquelle is promoted to 1st class and Alex Pain is promoted to corporal.
