The Red and Black minute: we don't take the same ones and we start again!

As is often the case, the Gym leaves frustrated by a defeat and scandalous refereeing decisions. This time with Bastien Dechepy in the shoes of the culprit and Florian Maurice in that of the manager who tries to make the club's not powerful enough voice heard.

Do we still have to take the trouble to come to Lyon full of hope only to have them stolen in this way? Like too often. Trampled this time by the new public enemy number 1 in : Bastien Dechepy. The man who had already sent off Todibo after 9 seconds against . Or makes the placid Franck Haise unpinned on the bench. Dechepy decided on Sunday evening to steal at least two goals from the Aiglons. The one scored by Guessand and finally canceled for a foul by Rosario 30 seconds before and 40 meters from the Lyon cage. And this obvious penalty refused to this same Guessand, surrounded by Caleta-Car in the second half.

Two scandalous decisions because they are inconsistent and biased, we dare say. Since Dechepy, probably not helped by the incompetents in the video van, went to see the images each time and therefore decided and assumed this double standard which is also blatant in other situations elsewhere. Foul not called by Lacazette on his 2nd goal. Involuntary and inconsequential hand of Nandjou finally punished with a penalty… the list is long and the Gym could therefore once again bring out this famous front page of L'Equipe which already dates back around fifteen years: “Nice stolen from Lyon” .

An archive already dusted off last season when Lyonnais Turpin torpedoed the Gym and forced President Rivère to shout. Obviously without effect. And without rehearsal this time since the president was not present at Groupama Stadium, like the general director Fabrice Bocquet. Which may be surprising given what happened last year. And so it was the sports director Florian Maurice who took it upon himself to step in as best he could, even though he hates the light and the media.

But if the Gym is regularly robbed, in Lyon in particular, it may be because its alarm system is not working. Protecting the club, putting pressure, it's part of the toolkit of an institution. For example, we saw Monaco write to UEFA last week to complain about the refereeing against Benfica. We will see how the Gym will emerge from this new painful sequence on and off the field since Mohamed Ali Cho has become the 11th injured red and black, probably missing until the end of this year 2024 which we are really looking forward to closing…
