Val-des-Monts | The SQ investigates murder in Outaouais, after the death of a woman

(Val-Des-Monts) The municipality of Val-des-Monts, in Outaouais, was the scene of a murder on Sunday.

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) indicates that its crimes against the person investigation department took over responsibility for a public security investigation in the MRC des Collines around 1:30 p.m.

MRC police officers noted, during an intervention on Chemin des Cerisiers, in Val-des-Monts, that two people had been seriously injured. The death of one of the two victims, a woman, was noted on site. The other victim, a man, was evacuated to a hospital where his life is feared.

Camille Savoie, spokesperson for the SQ, specifies that the provincial police took responsibility for the murder investigation, because it is they “who have the level of service to be able to investigate this type of event”.

The agent adds that the SQ works “in close collaboration with the public security police officers of the MRC des Collines”. The investigation is continuing.
