After Chartres (0-4), SM Caen inherited the amateurs and neighbors of Bolbec (R1) this Saturday during the 8th round of the Coupe de France. The Caen footballers were even more favored as the match took place at the Stade d'Ornano. The logic was respected but SM Caen had to wait until the second half to increase the score and avoid any unpleasant surprises. After two first unsuccessful attempts via a header from Daylam Meddah then a madjer from Mathias Autret (11th), SM Caen opened the scoring as the halfway point of the first period approached. Mickaël Le Bihan, established at the forefront, placed a curling shot into the top corner (20th). Seven minutes later, the Caen striker missed the double on a delivery from Romain Thomas (27th).
The 1-1 Ball for Bolbec
Bolbec could have worried the SMC more severely if Kevin Massaka, after getting rid of Emmanuel Ntim, had not lost his face-to-face with Yannis Clémentia (38th). But the Bolbec fans remained all the more in the match as the SMC failed to double the score before half-time. Mathias Autret placed a shot easily repelled by Vincent Paumel (41st). And the Bolbéc goalkeeper repelled the double attempt from Autret then in the wake of Le Bihan (45th), depriving Malherbe of the security of a break before half-time.
Malherbe secures his qualification in the second half
In the second half, Malherbe immediately took cover on Mathias Autret's first goal of the season (47th) and Bolbec avoided the 3-0 with a save on his line from his captain Mathieu Leroux against Tidiam Gomis ( 54th). This was only to delay the deadline and despite two new saves, Vincent Paumel could not prevent Godson Kyeremeh from scoring Caen's 3rd goal (58th). If Alex Mendy who entered during the match missed his first opportunity, the SMC top scorer took advantage of the second to increase the score and his statistics (65th) followed by Bilal Brahimi (76th) and Kyeremeh for a double (88th).
The score could have been much heavier if Godson Kyeremeh (72nd) then Lebreton (74th) had not placed their shot next to the target or if Vincent Paumel had not been decisive against Brahimi (86th).
