As previously announced, the body of young Oury Bella Diallo, an 18-year-old woman from Diawoya Noussy (in the prefecture of Labé), was found on the night of last Wednesday, November 27, 2024, in a house in Libreville, Gabon. The body of this poor girl was wrapped in rubber and covered with a mattress in the house of Alpha Abdoulaye Diallo, a young Malian tailor. The deceased had been missing for three days (since Monday). And, according to information given to Guineematin.com this Saturday, November 30, 2024, it was the nauseating odor coming from the house of the main suspect in this case which alerted the neighborhood to the presence of this body on the scene.
“We lost sight of her since Monday. And, it was her husband who alerted us to her disappearance. This day, it was she (Oury Bella) who prepared her husband’s breakfast. And, the two spoke on the phone twice between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Now, when her husband came home around 5 p.m. (since he is a truck driver, he works during the day), he noticed his wife’s absence at home. He called me on the phone to ask me. He also told me that his wife’s phone wasn’t working. I tried to contact Oury Bella myself, after my conversation with her husband, but it didn’t go through. We searched for her until 9 p.m., in vain. Since there is currently a curfew here from midnight, people hardly dare to go out at night, we told ourselves to wait until the next day to continue the search. The Guinean community was informed of his disappearance. So the next day (Tuesday) morning we went to the police to make a statement to report him missing. Then we continued the search, but we didn’t hear from him all day. Also on Wednesday we continued the search. But all day we had no news. It was early in the evening, around 8 p.m., that people noticed a bad smell coming from a tailor’s house. But, a driver who lives nearby said: “the tailor who lives here, I dropped him off at the airport this morning.” They asked if he left his keys with anyone in the neighborhood, but no one had his keys. So some suggested breaking the door. But, others said to call the authorities first before doing so. That’s what was. But by the time the police arrived on the scene, it was already 10 p.m. They broke the door, entered the house and saw Oury Bella’s body inside. The body was wrapped in rubber, but it was in one piece, contrary to what many say the body was cut up. The body was simply wrapped in rubber and covered by a mattress. His alleged killer, the tailor, is on the run. But in the evening, he sent a voice message to his friend, the taximan who had dropped him off at the airport, to tell him: “I arrived in Abidjan, but I left there (in Libreville) a big problem, I’ll come back to explain everything.” He also sent another message, in Bambara, to another of his friends, telling him: “I left a big problem there (in Libreville), but whoever asks you, tell him that I am in Cameroon,” explained Mamadou Oury Barry, maternal uncle of the victim.
How did Oury Bella Diallo know his alleged executioner?
The announcement of the tragic death of this young woman caused great sadness in her family in Guinea, and speculation on social networks where some say that she was killed by her lover and that her body was decapitated. A thesis that the deceased’s maternal uncle refutes.
“The one suspected of the murder of Oury Bella is a tailor. In any case, it was in this young man’s house that his body was found. But how did this girl get to know this tailor? It was her husband who introduced them. Oury Bella had clothes that she was no longer able to wear well, because she has gained weight since arriving here. She also wanted to sew other clothes. So her husband sent her to this tailor in the neighborhood. This tailor and Oury Bella’s husband worked together for three years, in a dealership in Libreville here. So they knew each other well. So, it was her husband himself who sent her to this tailor for these clothes. A week later, the tailor called to say to go pick up the clothes. Oury Bella’s husband himself came to the workshop to pick up the clothes. But, there were some that weren’t sewn well. So, he told Oury Bella to try it on there so the clothes would be sewn to her size. Now I can’t tell you how the girl ended up in the tailor’s house. But, his clothes are always with the suit,” said Mamadou Oury Barry.
Ongoing investigations
Investigations have already been opened by the Gabonese authorities in this matter. And their outcome could edify opinion on what really happened, which led to this tragedy. Already, assures Mr. Mamadou Oury Barry, suspects are being arrested as part of this procedure.
“At the moment, we don’t have anything clear. But suspects are being arrested. Among the arrested suspects, there are those who made audios and shared them in groups. But investigations are continuing to allow us to see clearly in this matter. The tailor who is accused of this murder, according to information, holds a Malian identity card. But, he is of Guinean origin. It was his parents who left Guinea to settle in Kayes (Republic of Mali). So he (this tailor) was born there. But, he speaks Poular and Bambara fluently. He also speaks French. So, as I speak to you, Oury Bella’s body is in the hands of the authorities. But his alleged killer is on the run. Investigations continue and we pray to God to help us see clearly in this matter,” he implored.
