A tragic fire broke out this Friday, November 29 late in the afternoon in La Ferté-Macé, in Orne. Despite the rapid intervention of emergency services, the fire claimed the life of the occupant of the house.
A major intervention
According to Tendance Ouest, towards 17h30firefighters were alerted for a fire in a house located at a place called The Barberein La Ferté-Macé. Next to 20 firefighters were mobilized to try to control the flames and rescue the victim. On site, the gendarmerie and the mobile emergency and resuscitation service (Smur) were also dispatched to support the emergency services.
A tragic outcome
Inside the home, a man was present at the time of the fire. Unfortunately, despite the efforts of emergency services, the victim could not be saved and he was pronounced dead. HAS 6:30 p.m.firefighters were still working to completely extinguish the fire and secure the area.
An ongoing investigation
The exact circumstances of the fire remain unknown at this time. An investigation has been opened by the authorities to determine the causes of this tragedy. This sad event reminds us of the importance of vigilance regarding the risks of domestic fire, particularly in winter.
