We won because we prevented the enemy from ending Hezbollah and the resistance“, he proclaimed during his first televised speech since the ceasefire with Israel came into force early Wednesday morning, November 27.

Reflecting on the Israeli ground offensive that began 64 days ago, Mr. Qassem acknowledged that the initial military operations had caused about ten days of confusion within Hezbollah. However, he stressed that the group quickly regrouped, regaining its power and reestablishing its command and control systems, and eventually launching strikes on Israel’s home front.

He described this result as “a great victory for the resistance”referring to the 34-day conflict between Hezbollah and Israel that ended in a United Nations-brokered ceasefire.

Referring to the ceasefire agreement, the Hezbollah leader clarified that he “is not a treaty or new agreement, but rather a framework to implement United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701“.
