Increase in the Navigo pass: here are the new prices for the metro in 2025

The information is not yet confirmed, but Bleu announces an increase in the Navigo monthly subscription to 88.80 euros per month, compared to 86.40 euros today. This increase, which could be implemented on December 11, would accompany the new ticket price list.

On January 1, 2025, will all Ile-de-France residents pay more to take the metro? The increase in the price of metro tickets has already been confirmed, with an increase from 2.15 to 2.50 euros per trip (or 2 euros for the bus or tram). Île-de-France Mobilités is preparing a simplification of its price list, with single prices regardless of the destination and advantages for holders of a Liberté+ pass (the ticket costs 1.99 euros, even if it cost 1. 73 euros so far).

According to France Bleu Paris, IdFM could also affect the prices of subscriptions for the Navigo pass, which allows unlimited travel in the region. The monthly subscription could increase from 86.40 to 88.80 euros per month, while the annual subscription would increase by 26.40 euros (from 950.40 to 976.80 euros).

What will be the new prices for taking the metro in Paris?

The administrators of Île-de-France Mobilités will meet on December 11, 2024. They will vote during this meeting on the possible increase in prices, while the last increase dates from January 1, 2024. If the current proposals are validated, the prices would become the following:

Old price From January 2025
Ticket T+ 2,15 euros 2.50 euros (or 2 euros for bus/tram)
Freedom+ Ticket 1,73 euro 1.99 euros (or 1.60 euros for bus/tram)
Region ticket Between 2.15 and 5 euros 2,50 euros
Airport ticket Between 10.30 and 16.60 euros 13 euros
Navigo day Between 8.30 and 20.60 euros 12 euros (without airports)
Navigo week 30,75 euros ?
Navigo month 86,40 euros 88,80 euros
Navigo year 950,40 euros 976,80 euros
Imagine R 374,40 euros 384,30 euros
Imagine R junior 16,40 euros 16,80 euros

The entire offer, with the possible exception of Navigo week, would increase in 2025. After provisional changes during the Olympics and the promise to return to the old prices, Île-de-France Mobilités would apply its inflation protocol to finance its expenses. IdFM is committed with the State to “moderate increases” until 2031

Will this increase provoke a revolt among users and the political class, who could use it to protest against the politics of the Île-de-France region? The release of the information by France Bleu Paris should certainly encourage Valérie Pecresse, the president of the region, to comment on this price increase.

The Liberté+ pass on smartphone for spring 2025

To take the metro in 2025, the Liberté+ pass could quickly become essential. This free subscription, which invoices actual consumption at the end of the month, using a RIB, can be requested on the Internet.

The only disappointment: it will not be available on smartphones when the new prices arrive. You will have to wait until spring 2025 to subscribe from Android or iOS. On the other hand, tickets at 2.50 euros and Navigo day, week and month passes will be available from 1is January 2025.
