Disappointed after the Nice debacle in the Europa League, Jérôme Rothen pointed out the tactical choices of Franck Haise.
Nice fell to Rangers (1-4) on Thursday in the Europa League, a setback which sparked strong criticism, notably from Jérôme Rothen. The consultant of RMC did not spare Franck Haise, accusing the Nice coach of lacking lucidity in his choices.
“He doesn’t put his best team together. He says he has players with problems, but you can play them for half time or half an hour. If they can get in 30 minutes, they can play 60 or 70 minutes.”he declared, denouncing poor management. Rothen also pointed out a lack of boldness in the tactical approach: “In Lens, his team was drawn towards the offensive. Yesterday, nothing happened! Don't run away from your responsibilities. You made a mistake in your composition and in your approach to the match.”
For him, the numerous injuries could also raise questions about physical preparation: “Is it bad luck or average preparation? Maybe you didn’t prepare them well at the start of the season…” A harsh indictment, but revealing of the disappointment caused by this rout.
