She is a true icon for the young generation and has a total of just on her Instagram account, 4,3 millions de followers. But if she is very present on social networks and on red carpets around the world, Aya Nakamura is discreet in the media, granting only a few sporadic interviews.
And yet, it is the plateau of C to you on France 5, this Thursday, November 28, which she chose to reestablish some truths around two highlights that punctuated his year: his participation in the Vogue World show at Place Vendôme and the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games this summer. Two events which are closely linked for the judge of The New School on Netflix, in many ways. Indeed, when her presence at the Olympics was revealed, a rumor according to which the singer was going to resume La vie en rose by Édith Piaf circulated, causing a lot of controversy.
A star to the rescue
In front of the columnists and Anne-Élisabeth Lemoine, the artist with multiple NRJ Music Awards reestablished the truth, confiding that she had to sing this monument of the French repertoire at the Vogue World show, and not at the Olympic Games: “Basically, I had to sing Edith Piaf at that moment, it was not at the Olympics that I had to sing that”she declared before continuing, “when there were controversies, I said : 'Well if I do this thing, I'm not singing Édith Piaf, I'm doing a piece of my own like that for the Olympics, we're happy', because they said to themselves : 'It'll ruin the controversy if you sing that', they made a big deal out of it.”

Furthermore, the interpreter of Djadja almost found himself at the heart of a conflict of interest between these two key meetings on his agendaas she explains: “ Before doing this event (Vogue World Paris, editor’s note), there was a bit of a mess with the Olympics because I had to be a bit of an outcast to do the Olympics, because it was in Paris”.
She adds having received the support of a major international star : Anna Wintour. “The Olympics didn’t want me to do it so Anna Wintour talked a little with the Olympics because I had to do it”she says before concluding, “so I wasn't supposed to do that thing at all, but I wanted to do it anyway, it's Vogue World.”.
