NFL – Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus was fired this Friday by his franchise the day after the loss to the Detroit Lions!
It was one loss too many for the Chicago Bears and Matt Eberflus. Beaten this Thursday during the Thanksgiving match by the Detroit Lions (23-20) at the end of a game marked by disastrous management of the clock at the end of the match, the Chicago Bears therefore decided to part ways with their coach according to
The ouster of Matt Eberflus is not really a surprise in itself! Already on an ejection seat during the 2023 season, the now ex-coach of the Bears was granted one last chance with the selection of Caleb Williams which should allow the Bears to move up a level in a particularly tough NFC North division. Instead, the Illinois franchise has only won 4 small games since the start of the season. After offensive coordinator Shane Waldron, it’s Matt Eberflus’ turn to head out the door.
It’s still a small phenomenon in the world of the NFL since the Chicago Bears have never fired a coach during the season. Matt Eberflus will therefore be the first! He finished his tenure with the Bears with a record of 14 wins and 32 losses in 46 games. Let’s now hope that the Chicago franchise can make a new start… successful this time.
