Noussair Mazraoui ready to play “any position”

Noussair Mazraoui has become the new jewel of Manchester United. The Moroccan international expressed his satisfaction after contributing to his team’s victory against Bodø/Glimt (3-2) on Thursday, during the fifth day of the Europa League.

In a statement to Manchester United’s official YouTube channel, Mazraoui praised the victory against a tough opponent. He stressed that the players had shown a positive reaction, thus providing a first European victory for Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim, while paying tribute to the supporters.

“It was a tough game, but we got a great win in the end. We started well, then went through a complicated period in the first half, conceding two goals. Ending this period with a draw was crucial. In the second half we dominated the game and scored just one goal. I think we could have scored more. This first victory at Old Trafford for Amorim is important, both for him and for the supporters. We know how important they are”he said.

Regarding his versatility on the pitch, Mazraoui said he is not bothered by position changes, being ready to play wherever his coach wants for the good of the team.

“I’ve already played four different positions, and wherever I can help the team, I will. I always give my best in every position. And finally… what can I say? I think I’m a versatile player (laughing). Personally, what I like most in football is offering an assist. It’s always an incredible feeling for a defender, because it doesn’t happen often.”he explains.

Mazraoui provided an assist in the match against Bodø/Glimt and produced a great performance. This is his second assist of the season in 19 appearances in all competitions with the Red Devils.

Furthermore, the Atlas Lion is among the nominees for the title of Player of the Month at Manchester United, following his recent remarkable performances.

The Moroccan defender is competing with two of his teammates: Cameroonian goalkeeper André Onana and striker Amad Diallo.
