The Suva Media Prize rewards a shocking investigation into skiing and a magnificent podcast of humanity

Two RTS journalists were crowned during the 31st edition of the Suva Media Prize. François Ruchti wins the Grand Prize, while Arnaud Robert wins the Coup de cœur Prize. François Ruchti is distinguished for his report “Top speed on the slopes”, in which a father testifies on the death of his daughter, who died during collusion with a skier who was too fast.

The jury noted “the excellent journalistic work, its rigor in execution as well as the strong message of prevention transmitted through this poignant report,” Suva wrote in a press release on Thursday.

“A capital cultural object, which puts to the roof the junk wisdom which invades the era”

For his part, Arnaud Robert, also a collaborator of the Tempsis rewarded for his podcast “Arnaud”. He shares the impact of his accident in the Valais Alps, where a slip on the ice left him quadriplegic. “Précipice, this podcast by Arnaud Robert which today received the Suva media prize, is a thousand miles from what is making the noise of the time: from Tik Tok and Instagram, from fake, from arrogant success and narcissistic swelling. It is a light for collective survival. This Suva Prize will be a landmark: it crowns a capital cultural object, which puts to the roof the junk wisdom which invades the era,” declared Bertrand Kiefer during the award ceremony.
