Bundesliga: Kompany expects a “difficult” match against Dortmund

Bayern Munich have won seven consecutive victories and as many matches without conceding a goal, but coach Vincent Kompany (38) said that was in the past and would not count for the Klassiker this Saturday on the Borussia Dortmund ground.

THE Bavarian seem to have rediscovered their national domination under the leadership of Kompanywho is in his first season at the head of the team, after the cup-championship double achieved last year by the Bayer Leverkusen.

Undefeated in Bundesligathe Bayern is already six points ahead of Frankfurtsecond in the standings and have not conceded a goal in their last five league matches and their last seven matches in all competitions.

“The league's top scorer, Harry Kane, has already scored 14 goals this season. I just want us to win tomorrow's game. He's the Klassiker.”said Kompany during a press conference this Friday.

“I like that these matches have special preparation. We all look forward to these matches. If you look at the big picture, it's important for us not to look too much at how others view our players. It’s how we see them that’s important.”

The Bayern goes to Dortmundwhere the hosts are far from convincing in the championship, despite their good run in Champions League.

Hampered by injuries, Dortmund fell to fifth place in the Bundesliga with 19 points, 10 points behind Bayernafter failing to win any of their away matches in the league this season. But Kompany is preparing to face what he said was “the best version” of Dortmundwhatever its recent results in Bundesliga. “We are preparing to face the best version of the team. If they are in front, they press very high, they are extremely dangerous in attack thanks to their speed on the wings”said Kompany about Dortmund.

“When they are at their best, they are also very, very good at building the game. It will not be an easy match, it will be difficult.”
