The progress of work to connect the governorate of Bizerte to the natural gas network was the subject of a working session held this week at the governorate headquarters.
On this occasion, the governor of Bizerte, Salem Ben Yaacoub, insisted on the need to accelerate the execution of all technical, administrative and land aspects of the project in order to ensure the supply of 14 municipal areas with natural gas in as soon as possible.
For his part, the site manager indicated that the first phase of the project carried out in Bizerte-est over a distance of 140 km reached a rate of 95% and should be completed in two months.
The second phase of the project which includes the delegations of Mateur, Menzel Bourguiba, Tinja, Bizerte-north and Bizerte-sud has reached a progress rate of 55%.
The project to connect the governorate of Bizerte to the natural gas network, the cost of which amounts to 135 million, consists in particular of the installation of a gas pipeline over a distance of 290 km.
