Russian President Vladimir Putin has threatened to strike the Ukrainian capital kyiv with recently unveiled Orechnik missiles in Dnipro, while complimenting future US President-elect Donald Trump, whom he considers ” very intelligent and experienced ».

« We do not exclude the use of Orechnik against the army, military industry facilities or the decision-making center, including in Kyiv “, Mr. Putin said at a press conference in Kazakhstan on Thursday.

The Orechnik missile, first launched against Ukraine last week, carries six warheads and can travel at ten times the speed of sound, according to Mr Putin, who also said it could not be intercepted by any modern air defense system.

“The use of several Orechnik missiles in a single strike would have devastating power comparable to that of a nuclear weapon”he added.

The Orechnik can penetrate underground bunkers and release dozens of submunitions that “ reduce everything to dust ” Vladimir Putin said at the summit of the security alliance of former Soviet nations, which is being held in Kazakhstan.

The Russian president suggested that the United States’ decision to allow Ukraine to strike Russia with longer-range missiles could be aimed at making it harder for the next administration to negotiate a peace deal American.

He greeted the new American president Donald Trump as an “intelligent and experienced” leader, saying he was confident he would be able to find a solution given that he “took on a challenge like winning back the White House. »

Mr. Trump has already said he could end the war in Ukraine ” in one day “, but some of those who fled the country are not very confident about the future.

This week Donald Trump also chose the former general and White House national security advisor, Keith Kelloggto negotiate a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia.
