An ultra-right demonstration “for Thomas and all victims of immigration”another from the left “faced with racist recovery”. Both will take place in Romans-sur-Isère this Saturday, despite their bans by the prefect of Drômeparticularly for risks to public order. The Grenoble administrative court annulled this decision this Friday, in particular because the prefect was unable to prove, according to the decision rendered, that he did not have the necessary police reinforcements.
The rallies are organized, for the ultra-right, by the “Justice for Ours” collective. For the anti-racist left, the association “Collectif pour Romans” and the ASTI Romans (association of solidarity with all immigrants) and the CNT CCS union of Drôme and Vaucluse are organizers. These associations and groups had filed requests for interim relief following the prefect’s decision. They won their case.
This Friday morning, the prefect of Drôme said he “takes note” of the decision of the administrative court. We do not yet know whether the prefecture intends to file an appeal with the Council of State. The prefect should announce his decision during the day.
