A new price increase is planned for the Navigo pass from January 1, 2025.
The Île-de-France region announced this Thursday, November 28, a new increase in the monthly price of the Navigo pass. With 2.40 euros more per month, its price will increase from 86.40 monthly to 88.80 €, according to information from France Bleu.
An increase of 2.8%
“This is a controlled increase”underlines Île-de-France mobility (IDFM). For now, this new pricing will be subject to the budget vote scheduled for December 11, while the Region's mobility center estimates its operating budget at 12 billion euros for 2025. “For the communities, that is to say the department, the region and the city of Paris, this is a “shared” and “important” effort, i.e. an increase in the amount of inflation increased by 2 %”underlines IDFM.
“Communities make the choice of transport”, added the authority, whose argument is based on the extension of line 14 and the expansion of the public transport network with the next openings of the Grand Paris Express lines and the complete return of the RER E, equipped with new trains.
Furthermore, 2025 will also mark the overhaul of ticket prices: there will now be only two prices: 2.50 euros to take the metro, RER and Transilien and 2 euros for buses and trams.
