The large vault of the transept crossing has been completely restored
The stroll continues with the meeting of Henry de Reviers, from a masonry company. It presents the restoration of the vaults, pierced or collapsed in the nave, the north arm of the transept, in the choir and especially at the crossing of the transept.
This last vault, the largest, was completely swept away by the fall of the spire during the fire. And its reconstruction was carried out in two stages, using the scaffolding erected for the restitution of the spire, which rested on the floor of the cathedral: once the metal structure arrived at the height of the vaults, it served as a first to rebuild the diagonal ridges, between which it then continued to rise. Once the spire was rebuilt, it was dismantled and the vault completed, completely closed.
