10:55 a.m.: Careful searches are underway

Fourteen groups, made up of 30 to 60 people, carefully examine every square meter of land in the Trieux valley. They come together regularly to then form new search areas, after having finished scanning a sector.

In certain very difficult to access areas, group leaders ask the best equipped people (boots, sticks) to go prospecting, while the others stay on more passable trails.

An investigation into a disturbing disappearance

Morgane’s disappearance was reported late Monday morning by her mother, worried about not seeing her return from college. Immediately, an investigation into a worrying disappearance was opened by the gendarmerie, under the direction of the Saint-Brieuc public prosecutor’s office. The Guingamp research brigade is in charge of the investigations.

According to the first elements, this is an unprecedented situation: the young girl had never run away before. A family dispute, which occurred during the weekend, could have precipitated his departure, according to prosecutor Nicolas Heitz.

Substantial resources mobilized

The gendarmerie deploys significant resources to find Morgane. A specialized dog, a helicopter, as well as calls for witnesses were engaged. Social networks and local media actively relay the information.

Morgane, born December 23, 2010, would have neither money nor a bank card, which increases the authorities’ concern.

A decisive battle

In this outpouring of solidarity, a citizen fight is organized this Friday at 9 a.m., near the Pro Park in Guingamp. Residents are invited to participate in combing the surrounding area.
