INFO BFM Lyon. The man suspected of the murder of Cynthia Paveaux was arrested in Marseille during a theft. The Lyon public prosecutor’s office specifies that he was placed in pre-trial detention.
More than nine months after the murder of Cynthia Paveaux, the main suspect was arrested and taken into custody, BFM Lyon learned this Friday, November 29. According to our information, he was arrested in Marseille last weekend.
Cynthia Paveaux, a 45-year-old mother, was found dead, bound hand and foot and her body partly burned in a house under construction in Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon (Rhône) on February 11.
The man arrested is the ex-spouse of Cynthia Paveaux. From the start of the investigation, suspicion fell on this man after several corroborating testimonies.
Man arrested during theft
A relative of Cynthia had reported to investigators what the mother had said: she had become frightened when leaving work, noticing that her latest companion was waiting for her in the car with other people.
“She felt threatened, she was afraid of this man,” Cynthia Paveaux’s sister also explained to BFMTV.
According to a police source at BFM Marseille Provence, the man was arrested in Marseille last Saturday during a caravan theft. The Marseille police officers made the link with the arrest warrant against him.
The suspect was presented on November 26 before the investigating magistrate seized of the judicial investigation opened on the charge of murder by spouse. “He was indicted and placed in pre-trial detention,” the Lyon prosecutor’s office told BFM Lyon.
