Sandrine Collette received the 37th Prix Goncourt des Lycéens on the evening of November 28 for her work Madelaine before dawn (Éditions JC Lattès), in the presence of Anne Genetet, Minister of National Education, and Enrique Martinez, Managing Director of Fnac Darty.
2,000 students from 53 high schools had the chance to read, over the last two months, the 14 novels competing for the Prix Goncourt des Lycéens.
The 14 novels in competition, from the first selection of the Académie Goncourt, were widely debated during regional meetings organized by Fnac, in the presence of high school students and authors. Then, regional deliberations took place on November 25 in Rennes, with the 13 high school students national delegates. It was on this date that a list of 5 finalist novels was selected, before the final national deliberation on November 28, also in Rennes, the last stage of a true literary adventure which has no equal!
The Goncourt High School Prize was created in 1988, at the initiative of Fnac and the Ministry of National Education and Youth, with the agreement of the Goncourt Academy and based on its selection. Since then, it has enabled thousands of students each year to read and study works of contemporary literature.
