For the fifth anniversary of the death of her husband Claude Sempère, Dominique Lagrou-Sempère confides in her difficult mourning with Gala and reveals the object that continues to link her to the father of her children.

Five years ago, Dominique Lagrou-Sempère was confronted with the tragedy of her life. On November 29, 2019, her husband Claude Sempère, emblematic figure of 2, died at the age of 55 from lung cancer, leaving behind his two children aged 13 and 10, Mathilde and Esteban. In the latest issue of the magazine Galathe host of the show Between you and me opens up about her difficult grief and tells how she reopened the doors to love in her life. “It’s dizzying to think that for five years, my children have no longer seen their dad, that he is no longer in this house. And at the same time, I have the impression that it was yesterday”she confides.

The man of her life, Dominique Lagrou-Sempère will never forget him. “We met in 1998, illness entered our lives, then death decided to take it away. There are things you can’t fight against”she resolves to accept since the disappearance of the father of her children. “We can position ourselves as a victim, it’s a phase of mourning that I went through. Today, the energy that I want to put into my life is rich in this past, in this love”she confesses before revealing the object that still links her today to her husband Claude Sempère: “I’m still married to Claude”, she informs looking at her wedding ring that she hasn’t taken off.

Thanks to his children Mathilde and Esteban, Dominique Lagrou-Sempère has kept his heart open. “They understood that a mother, for her to be worthy of the name, must also be a happy woman. They told me: ‘You’re a great mom but don’t forget yourself.’ And I haven’t forgotten myself.”she explains. “Life gave me this gift of meeting my lover, Jeff. It came to a time where I was able to offer him a place by my side,” she reveals about the man who shares her life today before confiding about their relationship: “With Jeff, we are like the fingers of a hand. We create a family with each other’s paths. And then, I understood that death can take away a marriage. There, we are in life.”
