The Minister of Agriculture will receive representatives of several farmers’ unions on Friday. But while the government must make new announcements at the beginning of December, some are already predicting a mobilization that will “look like last year” this winter.

28/11/24 – 22:07 – In Charente-Maritime, farmers return some… 250 road signs
Throughout France, when anger begins to rumble in the countryside, many signs are turned upside down to signify that the world is walking on its head, or sometimes even stolen. This is the case for some 250 panels in Charente-Maritime which were finally returned this Thursday, relays France Bleu. Using three large tractors, the farmers returned their signs to the mayors indicating the entry or exit of their commune.
28/11/24 – 9:06 p.m. – Several “fires of anger” lit in the Somme on Thursday evening
This evening, the farmers of the Somme are mobilizing. At the initiative of the FDSEA and local Young Farmers, “fires of anger” were lit in around ten municipalities, including Essertaux, Albert, Bayonvillers, Friville-Escarbotin, Hornoy-le-Bourg, Oisemont, Villers -Bocage and the Ponthieu-Marquenterre community of communes, lists France 3. Their objective: “to show the disarray and the incomprehension of farmers in the face of an above-ground administration.
11/28/24 – 8:09 p.m. – We should expect “something that will resemble last year”
On the Young Farmers 31 side, some see the mobilization lasting “all winter”. Depending on the government’s announcements on December 6, the movement could regain momentum. For the representative of JA31, Tristan Fava d’Albert, we should expect “something that will look like last year, something that will last all winter”, he explains as relayed by France Bleu. And added: “I think they have not fully understood that the measures they want to announce to us will not be enough. We are in the mindset of leaving Christmas alone, to leave the citizens alone, but I think it will happen at the beginning of next year.”
11/28/24 – 7:04 p.m. – A new mobilization in mid-December in Toulouse, promises the FDSEA 31
While this Thursday’s demonstration in Toulouse only brought together around twenty farmers – who still managed to place straw on the steps of the administrative city and weld a gate thus blocking the access to the water agency and the French Biodiversity Office -, a new announcement from the government expected on December 6 could well restart the machine again. In the event that the executive’s announcements do not meet farmers’ expectations, a new day of action will be organized on December 12, the FDSEA 31 promises, with the possibility of finding the tractors on the ring road and perhaps even at Blagnac airport, relays France Bleu.

This Tuesday, Rural Coordination (CR) blocked the entry of four foreign trucks filled with perishable dairy products into Danone’s Gervois factory, located in Villecomtal-sur-Arros. After 24 hours of blockage, the farmers present finally decided to vacate the premises this Wednesday, November 27 in the evening. “For us, it’s a very good thing because we have the tripartite commitment that we wanted, we will be able to set up the local oat sector,” indicates Lionel Candelon, Gers president of CR Occitanie.
11/28/24 – 1:37 p.m. – Punch action in Clermont-Ferrand
Early this morning, many farmers from the FNSEA gathered in front of the Regional Directorate for the Environment, Development and Housing (DREAL) of Clermont-Ferrand, in Puy-de-Dôme. According to France 3 Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, they unloaded waste and rubble to signal their dissatisfaction with this service of the French state which they accuse of “impeding” agricultural practices. “We were in a small group and we unloaded tires, bags and we wrote a certain number of things on the windows of the facade. Today we consider that the DREAL is one of those administrations which exceed European standards, that is to say that they go further than the required regulations”, explains Sylvain Deloche, the secretary general of the FDSEA of Puy-de-Dôme.
28/11/24 – 12:10 – The Minister of Agriculture speaks on the mobilizations
After the actions carried out by farmers throughout France, the Minister of Agriculture Annie Genevard spoke to “condemn with the greatest firmness any attack on people and property”. The demonstrators notably erected structures of concrete blocks and cardboard in front of the National Health Security Agency (ANSES) and the National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and the Environment (INRAE).
