Ex-Real Madrid striker Eden Hazard believes he could have won the Ballon d’Or if he had the same luck as Neymar Jr.
Both players are renowned for being players with immense talent, but who have not been able to fully use it in their careers.
Even if they are still considered very great players, they could have done better than what they produced according to several observers.
However, Eden Hazard believes he would have done better if he had had the same opportunities as Brazilian Neymar.
For the Belgian, the former Parisian had the chance to play alongside Lionel Messi, a monster who was willing to help him one day win the Ballon d’Or.
Eden Hazard is clearly referring to the period when Messi and Neymar were teammates at Barça and understood each other very well on the pitch before the Brazilian suddenly decided to leave.
“In fact, if I had had the opportunity like Neymar had, I would have at least won the Ballon d’Or. He was playing alongside the best player in the world and wanted to help him.
This is an opportunity that will never come again. Messi has achieved everything in football and for him it is easy to make you the best player for a year or two.
Messi wanted to make Neymar what he truly deserved to be as a player, but his decision is his and he is responsible for it.
If I were in his place, I would have followed what Messi wanted because he wanted the best for himself and a successful football career.”said the former Chelsea star.
