Two local men were arrested by the Sûreté du Québec on November 27 after being linked to an accident that caused the death of a 53-year-old man on an industrial site in Saint-Alexandre-de-Kamouraska. A case which dates back to June 3, 2024.
That day, emergency services were called shortly before noon to the Route du Moulin area, following a collision between a loader and a pedestrian. When the police arrived, the death of the victim, a fifty-year-old from Rivière-Bleue, was noted on the spot.
A collision investigator analyzed the scene in order to establish the causes and circumstances surrounding this event. The investigation was subsequently entrusted to the Major Crimes Division of the Sûreté du Québec.
More than six months later, two individuals have been arrested by the authorities for their involvement in this matter. On the one hand, a 37-year-old man from the region was arrested and questioned by the police. He could face charges of dangerous driving causing death and criminal negligence causing death.
A 56-year-old man from the region was also arrested by the police. He could face a charge of accessory after the fact.
Both individuals were released for further proceedings.
