(Regional 1): AF Biars Bretenoux in search of a benchmark match at home

the essential
Large winner in the Cup last weekend, AF Biars Bretenoux returns to the Regional 1 championship this Saturday on the occasion of the arrival of FC 2 Rives 82 in Biars-sur-Cère where the Biarnais team is still in quest for a reference match.

After two weekends dedicated to the different cups (French Cup then Occitanie Cup), AF Biars Bretenoux will return, this Saturday, to the fields of the Regional 1 championship.
On the occasion of the eighth day, the Biarnais welcome the FC 2 Rives 82 team (match at 6 p.m.). After six matches, the Tarn-et-Garonnaise team (which like the Lotois, has a match in hand to play on December 21: FC 2 Rives 82 against L'Union Saint-Jean and AFBB in ) has a point less than the Biarnais (AFBB is 10th with 5 points and FC 2 Rives 82, 13th with 4 points). “FC 2 Rives 82 is not in its place in the group rankings,” warns Patrick Gauthier. It is an experienced team, used to the Regional 1 championship, well established in all its lines. As every time the two teams have met, we must expect a very close match” announces the coach of a Lot team which rediscovered the taste of victory last weekend.

“That the group reproduces in matches what it shows in training”

“Last weekend allowed the group to clear their heads after the painful defeat conceded in the French Cup eight days earlier in Espaly (1-0 defeat on a penalty conceded in the 89th minute). We had rested a certain number of players and harmonized the squads between team 1, which played in the Occitanie Cup in Carennac, and team 2, which hosted Saint Alban 2 in the R3 championship. Team 1 won 7-0 and team 2 4-0. That feels good. All the players played the game and this also allowed certain players returning from injury to have playing time. We are very satisfied, these matches allowed the regional group to get back on their feet,” analyzes the coach of a Biarnais team (which will have to deal this weekend with the absences of Souchon, Garrigou and Mollo but records the returns of Couty, Boussac and Dieme) still looking for a reference match at home.
“Against , we were solid, but we didn't create any real chances. We are always looking for a home match with two full halves” points out the Biarnais coach who expects his group “to reproduce during matches what they show during training sessions which are really quality. We need to play liberated, to try harder in the zone of truth, to be more spontaneous, more daring. Our first adversary is ourselves. We are facing a challenge: to achieve our first victory of the season at home.”
