Five to six cooks were present at that time, preparing meals for the city’s nurseries and nursery schools: they immediately left the premises, while the alert was given to the fire fighters. As the central kitchen adjoins the Les Primevères crèche, the smoke also reached the latter, which justified its evacuation. Nine babies were housed in the crèche this Thursday morning, they were welcomed into the nearby Pasteur school to protect them from the cold outside. Their families quickly came to pick them up, except for one of them who was unavailable: the child was taken to another daycare.

GRDF agents also went to the scene.

As the central kitchen is no longer in working order, the priority for the City is to find an external service provider to provide replacement meals at least until the end of the week (today and tomorrow Friday). With the fire under control, it is now time for ventilation to completely evacuate the smoke.
