A tragic fire broke out during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday in the town of Loire-Auxence. The events took place around 1:30 a.m. in a pavilion located at a place called “The Four Winds”in the district of La Rouxièredelegated municipality of the new municipality of Loire-Auxence 13 km northeast of Ancenis.
69-year-old woman dies in fire
Despite the rapid intervention of emergency services and their strenuous efforts to provide resuscitation, a 69-year-old woman unfortunately could not be saved. Her husband, aged 71, was slightly injured and transported to the Ancenis-Saint-Géréon Hospital Center to receive treatment.
Given the scale of the fire, a major emergency response system was deployed on site. No less than 24 firefighters were mobilized with substantial resources: two fire engines, a large ladder, an ambulance, a nursing vehicle and a support vehicle. The intervention was coordinated by a group leader, assisted by an officer specialized in investigating the causes of fire.
The SDIS44 firefighters managed to bring the fire under control thanks to the use of a fire hose. On site, several services also intervened: the National Gendarmerie to secure the premises and carry out the investigation, an elected official representing the municipality, the Enedis teams to manage the electrical aspect, as well as the MUR (Médecine d Emergency and Resuscitation).
An investigation is underway to determine the exact origin of this fire which has devastated the town of Loire-Auxence.
