Philips Hue is rolling out a new app update, version 5.31.0, which is now available for iOS and Android users. The changelog for Apple devices suggests that there is a new widget feature, although it appeared in the previous update. However, the update brings a new feature for all clients, but it was not included in the patch notes.
Version 5.31.0 of the Philips Hue app is available on iOS and Android users. The Android app's changelog simply states that there are various stability improvements and bug fixes. Unfortunately, the company doesn't specify which issues it has fixed or where users might benefit from the update.
The patch notes for the iOS version of the app indicate that users can now open the live video feed of a linked Secure camera via the home screen widget. However, this feature appeared in version 5.30 of the app although it was not announced at the time. To set up this camera shortcut, tap and hold on the Home screen and select Edit > Add Widget.
Additionally, there is another addition that has not been disclosed: support for a multi-deck configuration. This feature is designed for users with more than one Hue Bridge (currently $42.73 at Amazon). This new feature allows users to control all their smart home products at once, something that was previously impossible. You can now download version 5.31.0 of the Philips Hue application from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
