The Bois-Francs School Service Center (CSSBF) would like to congratulate Sébastien Bergeron, educational advisor in digital integration, for having received the prestigious CHAPO – Digital Leadership prize.
Mr. Bergeron was honored at the Grand Prix Distinction in Educational Technology gala, which was recently held in Lévis.
The CHAPO – Digital Leadership prize is awarded by the Quebec Association of Users of Technological Tools for Educational and Social Purposes (AQUOPS), in collaboration with the Association of Companies for the Development of Educational Technologies in Quebec (EDTEQ). This distinction recognizes a person who has demonstrated exceptional leadership in the integration of digital technology within their educational community. AQUOPS evaluation criteria include vision and leadership, the ability to mobilize and inspire, as well as the sustainability of initiatives.
Although it is an individual honor, Mr. Bergeron emphasizes that he could not have received this award without the precious collaboration of teachers Vicky D’Astous (Notre-Dame de Saint-Norbert-d’Arthabaska school), Annick Gendron (Le Manège school in Victoriaville) and Cindy St-Hilaire (Sainte-Famille school in Victoriaville). Thanks to the tutorials that he developed and posted online, these teachers support students in their learning of robotics and the programming of computer microcontrollers.
Teaching robotics and programming to students stimulates their logical thinking, problem-solving skills and creativity. In addition to strengthening their skills in mathematics, science and technology, this educational approach also promotes communication and teamwork. It constitutes an important source of motivation for students, who can progress at their own pace and carry out concrete projects.
