A security perimeter
A 31-year-old woman was found dead in the rubble. A man was found in front of the pavilion with wounds to his face and hand. He was taken to hospital with a life-threatening condition.
During the day, a security perimeter was set up by the police and a team of deminers intervened to carry out checks. Around twenty firefighters were also mobilized due to this explosion.
Pieces of the roof and elements of the house were scattered within a radius of several dozen meters in the surrounding area, sometimes damaging cars and houses.
“It’s terrible to see”
The pavilion was blown up around 4 a.m., waking up the village residents. “There was a big boom and we all rushed outside to see what was happening. The whole neighborhood was there. It's quite impressive, especially when you go over there. There was there is really debris everywhere, there are all the family's belongings, it's terrible to see”, testifies a young woman at the microphone of BFM Paris Île-de-France.
A neighbor had associated this noise with an explosion but was mistaken about its nature. “My son arrived in fourth gear because he lives behind. I thought we had been hit by a bomb, a shell or something like that. The shock wave ruined my two doors, the rear bolts were damaged. farted and then when we came out we saw the tiles,” explains a resident.
According to the public prosecutor of Melun, Jean-Michel Bourlès contacted by AFP, the hypothesis of the presence of explosives which would have been stored in the house by its former owner is favored. But assessments must be carried out to formally establish the cause of the explosion.
